Much of my artwork features American history, folklore, geography, and culture. As an impressionable child coming to America from England, I was struck by some of the differences. Remarkable Americans who have reached historical pinnacles in their professions have been the subject of some of my work. The unique holidays that we celebrate, even the flag that we salute, have inspired me.
And, unthinkable tragedy has moved me to make some sense of it. I needed to paint to heal from the heartbreak that was Sept. 11, 2001. My talented sister penned some poignant poetry to blend with each of my art efforts following 9/11. Perhaps she needed that to heal as well. I thank her here for her beautiful and healing words. Our combined efforts now electronically stand together forever in a Library Of Congress 9/11 cultural exhibit.
